Indiana Hoosiers

The Hoosiers had a three-game losing streak a little while ago but seem to have gotten back on track as of late. After beating Wisconsin over a week ago, Indiana got back-to-back wins over Michigan State and Illinois. Those are Quad 1 and 2 victories to add to an impressive resume, one that has them in the top 20 of the NET rankings.

Indiana’s play as of late may have suggested that they’d be closer to the bubble than safe but this past week has them firmly in the field. And helping matters is the return of forward Race Thompson, who was out for the past couple of weeks with an injury. With him back and Trayce Jackson-Davis playing at an All-American level, the Hoosiers are now in a strong position in both the Big Ten and nationally.

Kansas State Wildcats

The Wildcats started out as a nice story that’ll likely end up as an NCAA Tournament participant. But after this past week, they’re now in a top-4 seeding position. Kansas State went on the road and got a massive victory over Kansas in overtime by one point. They then followed that up with a home win over Texas Tech, the lone team that could end up being a “bad” loss by the time the regular season is over with.

Kansas State now has a top-20 NET ranking and a combined 7-2 record against Quad 1 and 2 opponents. But that can change, as Butler, who is in a free fall as of late, has a NET ranking above 100. If that goes past 135, it’ll be a Quad 3 defeat. Even then, the Wildcats simply just have to keep winning in the Big 12 to make up for that blemish.
