Bracketology 2023: Creighton, West Virginia and Baylor among week’s big winners

Texas A&M
Decent things were expected of this Texas A&M squad, especially after how they ended last season, making a run in the SEC Tournament and coming up just short. The response this year has been underwhelming, with five nonconference losses, including a disappointing effort against Wofford just before Christmas. However, the Aggies have been great in SEC play and picked up their finest win of the season this week.
That effort came back on Wednesday, with the Aggies getting a monumental 79-63 win over #15 Auburn. Texas A&M had one of their best offensive games of the year, shooting 47% from the field and getting an important 30-point, 9-rebound effort from Tyrece Radford. They also didn’t let a good week go to waste, battling back for a 72-66 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday, led by Henry Coleman III’s 18 points.
The way they’ve been playing recently is working Texas A&M back into the bracket. They were likely on the outside before this week, but a road win at Auburn starts to turn some heads. The Aggies are now 7-1 in the SEC but will have to defend that record. The road ahead gets much tougher, including a rematch with Auburn less than two weeks from now. They’ve done their best to atone for a bad start to the season, a few more wins and this is an NCAA Tournament team.
