2. Indiana Hoosiers – 15-6 (6-4)

The winning streak for Indiana is now at five after sweeping all three games played last week. The first was at home against Michigan, winning by 13 points. Trayce Jackson-Davis went 31 points and 15 rebounds on 10/20 shooting and 11/13 from the free throw line. Despite just nine points combined from three other starters, Trey Galloway and Tamar Bates each had 17 to add to the 82-69 win.

There was much less offense on the road at Minnesota, a sleepy game that went down to the wire. This time, it was the Hoosier’s defense that allowed them to get the 61-57 victory, led by 25 points and a career-high 21 rebounds from Jackson-Davis. The guards all struggled but wing Miller Kopp had 11 points on three made three-pointers to help in the win.

Back at home, Indiana left nothing of doubt against Ohio State this past weekend, winning 86-70. This time, it was the five-star freshmen duo that had a big game, with Jalen Hood-Schifino scoring 24 points on 6/9 from deep, while Malik Reneau had 15 points and eight rebounds. Jackson-Davis still had a great game, going for 18 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.

Thanks to Zach Edey, the star big man for the Hoosiers isn’t going to be able to win Big Ten Basketball player of the Year. But he’s clearly the runner-up and has a major showdown against Edey and Purdue this weekend. Before that, they take on Maryland on the road in a legit “trap” game.
