Northwestern Wildcats

After back-to-back losses to both Iowa and Michigan, the Wildcats were squarely on the bubble and had the schedule against them, with two straight on the road this past week. The first was against Wisconsin, a game in which neither team managed to score 30 points in either half.

But in a game that came down to the final minute, Northwestern managed to squeak by with the 54-52 win. Chase Audige and Boo Buie had 24 points combined on 9/23 shooting but it was just enough to beat the Badgers.

They managed to get another close win on the road at Ohio State on Thursday, 69-63. Buie had 19 points, along with Brooks Barnhizer chipping in with 19 off the bench as well. It’s fair to note that both the Buckeyes and Wisconsin Badgers have been sliding as of late but right now, both are clear Quad 1 wins for the resume, which now is 6-4 overall, along with 0 Quad 3 or 4 defeats.

It’s a good resume for the Wildcats that’s squarely in the field. They can even afford to lose at home against both Purdue and Indiana up next and it not affect them too badly. But if they can beat one of them, Northwestern will have all but clinched an NCAA Tournament bid.
