Kansas Jayhawks

Being the reigning national champions and the best team in arguably the best conference has its perks when it comes to targeting prospects. And head coach Bill Self has a number of examples of his ability to send players to the NBA, with lottery pick Ochai Agbaji being the latest.

With Gradey Dick likely a “one and done” and Kevin McCullar not having any eligibility, the Jayhawks will be in need of a wing in the 2024 class. Cunningham can come in and have a major impact and potentially be a focal point of the offense. And with some of the other “blue bloods” being in various forms of flux, this is a perfect opportunity for Kansas to take advantage and try to get a future star to headline the class.

Memphis Tigers

Coach Penny Hardaway will always be in the mix to land five-star talent, although the 2021 class that included Emoni Bates didn’t work out well. They have five-star guard Mikey Williams coming in for the 2023 class and if he sticks around for a year, he and Cunningham would be one of the top duos in NCAA Basketball.

The biggest issue with Memphis now is its conference affiliation, as the AAC is set to lose Houston, Cincinnati, and UCF and be replaced by a few Conference USA programs. That could make this a one-bid league and make the odds for the Tigers to make the NCAA Tournament and be in the national spotlight low. Is that something Cunningham would settle for?
