Bracketology 2023: Kansas, Houston among top seeds with big games
Ohio State 11-15 (3-12) at No. 3 Purdue 23-4 (12-4)

The Purdue Boilermakers seemingly had the No. 1 overall seed on lockdown and then came a game at Indiana where they suffered their first road loss of the season. That was followed up by road losses at Northwestern and Maryland and suddenly Matt Painter’s team has lost three of four as they get ready to host Ohio State on Sunday.
The Boilermakers are still in a solid position to be a No. 1 seed when the bracket is revealed, but the top seed is now in question and any stumble could make that climb back to the top even more difficult.
Purdue currently sits at 5th in the NET and playing in the Big Ten isn’t going to hurt as things wind down, with Wisconsin the team with the lowest NET ranking remaining on the Boilermakers’ schedule. With nine quad 1 wins already, which is one less than the amount they have over quads 3 and 4 combined, it would take a catastrophic collapse for Purdue to fall to the No. 2 seed line.
The metrics see Purdue as a top 5 team and the three losses they’ve suffered have been by an average of four points. But, they can not afford many more slip-ups like the ones at Indiana, Northwestern, and Maryland if they hope to have a chance at the top seed.
