Texas Tech Red Raiders

We could be watching a historical Bracketology comeback folks, as Texas Tech is actually back on the bubble after starting 0-8 in Big 12 play. It started last weekend with a road upset at Kansas State to get back on the map but this past weekend has them in business.

On Monday, the Red Raiders pulled off a massive home win against Texas, 74-67. De’Vion Harmon had a career-high 25 points to lead all scorers, while Kevin Obannor had 19 points and seven rebounds. It became the signature victory of the season for them who now had its 3rd Quad 1 win of the season.

They were able to make it four on Saturday, beating West Virginia, 78-72. Texas Tech got another career-high effort, this time 27 points from forward Jaylon Tyson on 11/15 shooting from the field. Now, their metrics have improved greatly, including a more respectable 4-10 record vs Quad 1 opponents. There’s still plenty of work that needs to be done but now they have meaningful basketball the rest of the way.

The Red Raiders now look to keep the momentum going, taking on Oklahoma on the road, followed by a home matchup against TCU. The game against the Sooners might even be the more important one, as it’s a guaranteed Quad 1 qame on the road.
