There was no doubt that Kansas was going to be among those with a 1 seed in the bracket reveal. Heading into Saturday, they were not only the only program that had 10+ wins against Quad 1 opponents, but they had 12 total as well.

One of those was earlier this week, beating Oklahoma State on the road. The final score was 87-76, led by 26 points from freshman Gradey Dick, joined by 29 combined from the frontcourt of Jalen Wilson and KJ Adams. It was yet another Quad 1 victory for the Jayhawks that kept them at the top of the Big 12 standings.

The big game was this weekend at home against Baylor, who was a 2 seed in the Bracketology bracket reveal. The Bears looked like the one seed early on, taking a 13-point lead into halftime thanks to a barrage of made shots from Keyonte George. But that ended in the second half, as the Jayhawks went off, scoring 55 points in the blowout comeback win, 87-71. Four players had at least 14 points for the team, including 21 points and 13 rebounds from Wilson and 14 points and nine assists from Dajuan Harris.

That’s now 13 Quad 1 wins for Kansas and another signature victory. This is a team that has a great chance of becoming the No. 1 overall seed if they continue this kind of resume-building. They can improve it even more with a road win at TCU on Monday.
