Arizona Wildcats

It was a nice week for the Wildcats, including on Saturday. There was great debate as to who would get to go out west between them and fellow Pac-12 program, UCLA. The Bruins had a cleaner resume, while Arizona had better overall wins. The Selection Committee seemed to prefer the wins, placing them out west as a 2 seed.

After losing at Stanford last week, the Wildcats needed to avoid a bad loss. And that included a rematch against Utah, a team they had previously lost to. But Arizona had a much easier time on Thursday, winning 88-62. Both Courtney Ramey and Kerr Kriisa were in double figures and six assists on the night.

The Wildcats followed that up with another win at home against Colorado, 78-68. Big man Oumar Ballo was the star of the game with 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Cedric Henderson had 15 points on 6/8 shooting. Both of these Quad 2 wins, now making the Pac-12 program a combined 13-3 against Quad 1/2 opponents.

Arizona has just one game this week and it’s at home against Arizona State, a team that desperately needed a win. With USC and UCLA on the road afterward, the Wildcats are best advised to get a victory in order to remain a 2 seed out west.
