TCU Horned Frogs

TCU is trying to make history as the greatest team to be under .500 in league play and somehow still be ranked. After understandably losing at home to projected 1 seed Kansas, they’re now 7-8 in Big 12 play, having lost 5 of the last 6 games. A few of those were without star guard and leading scorer Mike Miles, who has missed eight total games on the season.

One of those missed games came early in the season to Northwestern State, a Quad 4 defeat. But that loss is going to sting no matter what for them. They do have wins over Baylor and Kansas are marquee signature wins and when healthy, were right in the thick of the Big 12 title race.

But the problem that TCU has is that they just can’t remain healthy and not just with Miles. And the Selection Committee has shown in the past that injuries don’t count for too much in seeding. That’s going to hurt not only the Horned Frogs but also who they draw in their portion of the bracket.

From a talent perspective, TCU is probably a 3/4 seed. But the resume they have could have them down to as low as a 6/7, especially if they lose at home to Texas or on the road at Texas Tech or Oklahoma. Look for them to be a talked-about team as someone that can make a deeper run than the seed placement.
