6. Angel Reese – LSU Tigers

2022-23 stats: 23.8 ppg, 15.5 rpg, 2.3 apg

After a breakout sophomore season at Maryland, Reese transferred over to LSU and has become one of the best players in NCAA Basketball, easily leading her team in points and rebounds. She has four games of at least 30 points this year, including a career-high 36 points and 20 rebounds in a win over Ole Miss. Reese has had at least 14 points in every game, as well as 10+ rebounds in all but one game as well.

What makes it hard to place Reese is that even though LSU is in the top-5 nationally, they’ve had by far the easier schedule of any player on this list. The Tigers have beaten just one ranked opponent this season (No. 24 Arkansas), with the other top-25 matchup being against No. 1 Carolina, which ended up being a loss. One could argue that the other four elite scorers coming up on this list would have just as good of numbers if they played this schedule, though it doesn’t take away from Reece’s accomplishments.

5. Diamond Miller – Maryland Terrapins

2022-23 stats: 20.0 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.8 apg

It was Miller who was most affected by Reece’s breakout year at Maryland a year ago but this time around, the senior guard had a breakout of her own, playing at an All-American level. She had a 32-point and 10-rebound effort in a road win over Baylor to get national attention and in a Big Ten filled with stars, she’s found a way to be just as effective.

Miller had 27 points against Iowa in a battle of stars, along with 31 points in a win over Michigan State. The Terrapins are currently second in the toughest conference in Women’s NCAA Basketball and is just coming off of a win over No. 7 Iowa this week. She might not get the same kind of attention as the other two women in the Big Ten but Miller deserves to be in the mix.
