Baylor Bears

One of the storylines that emerged from the CBS bracket reveal last Saturday was both Texas and Baylor getting a 2 seed, behind Kansas as a 1 seed. The Big 12 has clearly become the best conference in NCAA Basketball this season and a really good case can be made for getting multiple teams on a 1 seed line.

Although the Bears did lose a Quad 1 road game at Kansas State earlier in the week, they had the marquee matchup at home against Texas. It was really important for them not to only get another quality road win but also to get revenge for an earlier loss to the Longhorns back in Austin.

Despite losing star freshman Keyonte George early in the game due to an ankle injury, Baylor was able to overcome an early deficit to get a massive 81-72 victory, with five players in double figures. It’s the 9th Quad 1 win on the season, with still zero losses outside of that range.

The Bears still have a case to make for a 1 seed if Purdue falls off and with this win, may have jumped over Texas on the seedline. They have two more Quad 1 chances in the final week of the regular season, taking on Iowa State at home before dealing with Oklahoma State on the road.
