Kansas Jayhawks

Alabama was the No. 1 overall seed from the bracket reveal and they’ve continued to win since, though an overtime win over South Carolina wasn’t the most convincing. But there’s a case being made that Kansas should eventually overtake the Crimson Tide for No. 1 overall and it’s getting stronger and stronger.

With a four-game win streak, Kansas took on TCU on the road, in what turned out to be a defensive struggle. The Jayhawks were able to get yet another Quad 1 victory, beating the Horned Frogs, 63-58. Freshman wing Gradey Dick led the way with 19 points.

Kansas followed that up with a home win over West Virginia that was anything but easy. The final score was 76-74 and it was decided in the last seconds, with guard Dajuan Harris leading a balanced scoring effort among all five starters with 16 points and six assists on 7/9 shooting.

Right now, the win over the Mountaineers is a Quad 1 victory, now their 14th on the season. And with both Purdue and Texas losing on the weekend, Kansas now has five more Quad 1 wins than anyone else in Bracketology. And with zero bad losses either, it’s hard to see how the Jayhawks don’t move to No. 1 overall, whether the Crimson Ride loses another game or not. We’ll see if the Big 12 leader remains unbeaten in this stretch, taking on both Texas Tech and Texas this upcoming week.
