6. Texas Longhorns – 22-7 (11-5 Big 12)

The week started out great for the Longhorns, taking on Iowa State at home. It was a game that could’ve been a defensive battle but the backcourt for Texas all collectively played well in what turned into a blowout early on. The final score was 72-54, led by Sir’Jabari Rice and Tyrese Hunter each with 15 points, along with 13 points and five assists from Marcus Carr.

Up next was the massive road matchup at Baylor but early in the game, Texas went up 18-4 and got a huge break, with leading scorer and freshman Keyonte George leaving early with an ankle injury. Yet somehow, the Longhorns couldn’t take advantage, allowing the Bears to come back and pull out the 81-72 victory.

Dylan Disu led all scorers with 24 points on 10/15 shooting but fouled out in just 26 minutes. All three key guards were in double figures once again but were outplayed by the shorthanded Bears backcourt in the loss.

Texas looks to move on from this brief setback, taking on TCU on the road next, before ending the regular season at home against Kansas. That game could very well decide the Big 12 regular-season title, with the Jayhawks now up one game on the Longhorns.
