Bracketology 2023: Complete Bubble Watch before final weekend of regular season

Oregon: 17-13 (11-8 in Pac-12) NET: 48
This hasn’t been a great season for Dana Altman’s Ducks but all hope is not yet lost. The record is not great, especially considering the current state of the Pac-12, but Oregon’s not quite dead yet, especially with a few nice performances recently in conference play. The 3 Quad 1 wins look good, but it’s been some of their other performances that raise the red flags.
Splitting against both Arizona and Arizona State gave them a pair of those wins, with that 19-point win against the Wildcats clearly the high point of Oregon’s season. However, they also have a pair of Quad 3 home losses against UC Irvine and Utah Valley, two potent mid-majors that the Ducks should be able to beat at home. There have been avoidable losses in conference play, with rough outings against Colorado (a 27-point loss in January) and most recently against the Washington schools.
The Ducks blew out California on Thursday night and can do the same against Stanford in a revenge game this weekend. Minus that, there’s no chance to dance. Even with a win against the Cardinal, it’s going to take a really strong showing at the Pac-12 Tournament. This Oregon squad just hasn’t looked like an NCAA Tournament for much of the season, even if the metrics aren’t terrible. As long as they get an impressive win, preferably over one of those top-tier teams, before picking up their 14th loss, then Oregon has somewhat of a chance.
