Boise State: 23-7 (13-4 in MWC) NET: 27

These Broncos have an impressive NET, have already won 3 Quad 1 games, and got a very important victory against San Diego State earlier this week. However, being a mid-major, even in the Mountain West, means they’ll likely be sweating things out barring a great finish to the season.

What’s helped build Boise State’s resume is a 15-point neutral-site win over Texas A&M, one of those three Quad 1 wins. The other two have come in conference play, where there actually have been more solid opportunities than in past years. This conference could get anywhere from two to five teams into the Big Dance, and Boise State has for the most part held its own in conference play. What really hurt their resume was last weekend’s loss against San Jose State, their first conference loss that wasn’t a Quad 1 game.

What’s even more pressing for the Broncos, who would probably narrowly avoid the First Four right now, is the regular season finale at Utah State, another team squarely on the bubble. Winning this game would not only give them a season sweep over those Aggies but a fourth Quad 1 win that would all but secure their place in the field. Even with a loss, there’s always the MWC Tournament, which Boise State won last season.
