Texas vs Baylor wasn’t the only top-10 matchup this week, as UCLA took on Arizona. It wasn’t for the Pac-12 regular season title, as the Bruins had already locked that up. But these teams are fighting for a potential No. 2 or even 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, at least out west.

When the bracket reveal was announced a couple of weeks ago, the Wildcats got the 2 seed in the West Region. Since then, they had lost a game, while UCLA has continued winning. That included on Thursday against Arizona State, overcoming an early double-digit deficit to win, 79-61.

The same thing happened on Saturday, with the Bruins down early but making another big run to get the lead and eventually winning, 82-73. Jaime Jaquez had 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Tyger Campbell went for 21. It’s another Quad 1 win, now up to 9-4 against Quad 1 foes. That’s one more than the Wildcats, while also having three fewer Quad 2 losses as well.

This past week has risen the Bruins to not only ahead of Arizona on the 2 seed range in the West Region but also the first one if one of the top seeds were to fall. But it’s not over yet, as these two programs could easily meet for Round 3 in the Pac-12 title game.
