Bracketology 2023: Duke, Auburn, Texas and UCLA among biggest winners

Despite having a 6-game win streak snapped against Mississippi State last weekend, the Aggies had done enough to put themselves safely into the field. And that certainly wasn’t easy, as they had dug themselves a giant hole in the non-conference, losing a pair of Quad 4 games to both Murray State and Wofford.

But going 15-3 in SEC play makes up for a lot of those issues. That includes a sweep of this week to round out the regular season. The first was on the road at Ole Miss, the last chance of a “bad” loss for their resume. The Aggies didn’t let that happen though, winning 69-61. Tyrece Radford had 13 points but it took him 20 shots to do so.

Still, the defense has remained the calling card, which came through in a big way on Saturday against No. 2 Alabama. They held the Tide to just 61 points, the second-lowest total for them on the season, in a six-point victory for Texas A&M.

It’s the 6th Quad 1 victory for the Aggies, giving them 10 combined Quad 1/2 wins overall. It puts them now in the conversation of a 4/5 seed if they continue to keep winning in the SEC Tournament, which they’ve shown to have the capability to do so.
