NCAA Tournament 2023: Power ranking of top 100 players overall from the field
By Joey Loose
55. Terquavion Smith – NC State
A dynamic guard and former Top 100 recruit, Smith put up 17.5 points and 4.2 assists to lead the Wolfpack to their first NCAA Tournament trip in five years. A Second Team All-ACC player who was on many major watch lists in the preseason, Smith shoots a lot of 3-pointers and just had a 30-point effort against Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament.
54. Rayshon Harrison – Grand Canyon
Recently a star guard in the Big South at Presbyterian, Harrison has been the most important factor for the Antelopes this season. Not only is he averaging 17.7 points per game, but this First Team All-WAC player earned MVP honors in the WAC Tournament after scoring 31 points in the title game against Southern Utah, his second 30-point effort in March already.
53. Aidan Mahaney – Saint Mary’s
Earning First Team All-WCC honors as a freshman guard is already impressive enough, but Mahaney has a shot to do damage in the NCAA Tournament as well. In his first collegiate season he’s averaging 14.5 points a game and hit 41% of his 3-pointers to be a major force on offensive for these Gaels, but how will he handle the bright lights of March Madness?
52. Jahmir Young – Maryland
Formerly a three-year starter at Charlotte, Young has certainly found a home with Maryland, putting up 16.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists a game and leading the Terrapins back into the Big Dance. He received Second Team All-Big Ten honors for a fantastic season, one that saw him star multiple times, including a 30-point effort in a win over Ohio State.
51. Ed Croswell – Providence
Croswell’s final collegiate season has seen him become a major presence in his third year at Providence, becoming a starting wing for Ed Cooley after two years on the bench. Croswell is averaging 13.2 points and 7.6 rebounds, emerging as one of the best offensive rebounders in the nation this season.
