Pittsburgh Panthers

After the breakthrough season for the Panthers, look for them to rebuild its entire frontcourt this offseason. They lose all four guards from the rotation, including starting point guard Nelly Cummings and All-ACC point guard Jamarius Burton. They have redshirt freshman guard Dior Johnson on the roster but based on his past history, the team can’t rely on him being there on opening night of the 2023-24 season.

With plenty of minutes available, McKnight can come in and have a major impact on this ACC team. And he’d be a perfect pairing with forward Blake Hinson in pick-and-pop situations on offense. After the success that previous mid-major transfer Cummings had, the Panthers can be a viable option for the WKU guard.

Xavier Musketeers

The team that just beat Pittsburgh this week also could be an option for McKnight. Xavier will be losing star guard Souley Boum this offseason, as well as sharpshooter Adam Kunkel and all-around guard Colby Jones, likely to the NBA Draft. Head coach Sean Miller has plenty of experience with lead guards and it’s an offensive system that McKnight could thrive in.

The Big East is also one of them top conferences in all of NCAA Basketball and would be a spotlight for McKnight on the national stage. Plus, the Musketeers aren’t too far away from where the guard is from and unlike Louisville, is already at a high level as a program and doesn’t have to rebuild.
