Arkansas fouls a lot, UConn needs to take advantage of that

On the other end of the floor, the Huskies have a big advantage up front with one of the best big men in the country in Adama Sanogo. UConn should attack the Arkansas big men early and often, because not only is that not a strength of this razorbacks’ team, but they are also very prone to getting into foul trouble.

This is where losing Trevon Brazile to a season-ending injury nine games into the season hurt the razorbacks’ depth. So, attacking the middle of the court with Sanogo, Donovan Clingan and the rest of the Huskies will give them an even bigger advantage.

Arkansas uses the Mitchell twins, Makhi and Makhel and Kimani Johnson as pieces in the middle but with Arkansas’ propensity to commit fouls could get them in trouble quickly if they are attacked in defense. The Hogs are 331st in the country in fouls per game, 308th in fouls per possession, and 316th om fouls per defensive play. Going at a frontcourt with a difficult time playing defense without fouling seems like a good recipe for the Huskies in this matchup.

For UConn to reach the elite eight, going at the Arkansas forwards with their quality depth and forcing the Razorbacks to go small which would be a huge advantage for Sanogo and company.
