Memphis Tigers

After a slow start, Memphis finished the year with an AAC Tournament title and a spot in the NCAA Tournament. While losing to eventual Final Four participant Florida Atlantic is rough (especially after how it ended), it was a good campaign for Penny Hardaway and company.

They have to look towards the future, as several seniors will be leading. Not only are stars Kendric Davis and Deandre Williams leaving, but also Elijah McCadden, Damaria Franklin and Alex Lomax. The good news is that Coach Penny Hardaway already has another elite recruiting class coming, led by five-star combo guard, Mikey Williams.

There’s obviously going to be a desire to land at least one veteran guard that can run the offense to take the pressure off of Williams and the rest of the roster. They can either get a ball-handler to facilitate or a scoring guard that can create offense for themselves. Love would fit in the latter and would thrive at the AAC level and make the Tigers the clear team to beat.

Playing for Coach Hardaway would be good for Love when it comes to getting ready for the next level and improve certain aspects of his offensive game. And it would also give him the chance to be a leader of a program and take ownership. Expect Memphis to be a name in the mix but it’s unknown if the former Tar Heel will want to go there.
