7. Blue Cain – No. 98

The 6’4 guard is originally from Nashville, Tennessee but played his high school ball at IMG Academy in Florida, where his individual stock took off. Cain is a quality scorer, capable of producing anywhere on the court, and is an underrated ball-handler as well.

Cain had been a longtime commit to Georgia Tech and head coach Josh Pastner. And there was definite early playing time available for him had things remained stable. But after Coach Pastner got fired at the end of the year, the guard prospect de-committed.

Since then, former Pacific head coach Damon Stoudamire was named the new leader of the program. He’s kept a few key guards such as Dallan Coleman and Miles Kelly, along with adding Florida transfer Kowacie Reeves to the mix. It’s unlikely that the Yellow Jackets will get back involved with Cain.

In the past month, the top-100 prospect had made three visits; Florida, Virginia, and Georgia. All three programs have since added guards but of the three, the Gators still have the earliest playing time to offer in the backcourt. We’ll see if Cain goes on any other visits in the next couple of weeks or if he’s close to a decision himself.
