18. Elijah Hawkins – Guard

Former Team: Howard Bison

One of the shortest players in the portal just so happens to be one of the quickest and best point guards in the country. Howard ran an offense that involved heavy three-point shooting and a lot of back cuts to the basket. As a result, Hawkins was able to be one of the top passers in the country the last two seasons. He is more than just a pass-first point guard though. Hawkins shot 47% from deep this season and made over 100 free throws.

He can score from all three levels. The beauty of a player like the former Bison guard is that he doesn’t have to score to impact the game. He makes an impact with his ability to draw a crowd and then deliver the ball to his wide-open teammates. The guard led Howard in scoring. There is not much out there about his current recruitment but whoever gets him is going to be better than they were before.

17. Elijah Fisher – Guard

Former Team: Texas Tech Red Raiders

Why would a player who only averaged 3 points per game be on a best-uncommitted transfers list?  I am glad you asked because of the enormous potential he showed in year one in Lubbock. The Canadian guard only played 13 minutes a night but had a lot of jaw-dropping plays last season. The Red Raiders are going for a complete revamp under new head coach Grant McCasland and Fisher didn’t want to stay around after former coach Mark Adams was let go. Fisher was a former five-star top-25 recruit who earned more minutes toward the end of the year because of his relentless defense. Syracuse, Baylor, and Kansas were some teams that recruited him out of high school and may get involved again.

16. Taran Armstrong – Guard

Former School: Cal Baptist Lancers

Armstrong has been one of the best transfers in the portal since the day he entered the portal. He can stuff a stat sheet with ease and if he stays in college will be a guy who should rack up some triple-doubles. He is a guard who will lead your team in assists, scoring, and rebounding. He does have something that a lot of other guys in the portal do not and that is the highest basketball IQ of arguably any player in the portal and his court vision is amazing.

He can see holes and things opening before many others can. Armstrong is an interesting case though as he is from Australia and the professional basketball league of Australia is calling. That does seem to be the move right now but if he decides to come back to school, he will have a long list of suitors for him to choose from.
