It may not be fair to say but at least from an NCAA Basketball observer perspective, it’s a big next season for second-year head coach, Kyle Neptune. His team went 17-17 overall and didn’t make the postseason, despite having a lot of veteran players.

If you want to give him an excuse, their best player, Justin Moore, missed half the season due to an injury from the previous NCAA Tournament. He came back and averaged 13.5 ppg and 3.2 apg and will be 100% healthy next season. The team will be without Cam Whitmore and Caleb Daniels but added two quality transfers so far this offseason.

TJ Bamba is a 6’5 guard that had a breakout year at Washington State, averaging 15.8 ppg on 37% shooting from deep. Hakim Hart is a versatile 6’6 wing that can play and defend three different positions. He also can handle the ball a bit and help run the offense.

There’s still a question about whether or not leading scorer Eric Dixon is back for an extra year or not. But even if Dixon doesn’t return, the Wildcats reportedly are hosting Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson for a visit this past weekend. If they add him, the hype and expectations will be rampant for the program going forward.
