10. DePaul Blue Demons – Grade: D+

To some degree, DePaul is going to be limited in what they can do on the recruiting trail. Still, they missed out on Arterio Morris, who could’ve come in and had a major impact on the team as a lead option. The team did make up for it with Elijah Fisher, a former five-star prospect from Texas Tech.

But that’s really the only notable thing they’ve done in the portal. Guys like Chico Carter, Jeremiah Oden, and Jaden Henley are okay and a healthy Caleb Murphy should be able to help replace the lost guard production of Umoja Gibson. But these moves at best keep them out of last place for now and not with much hope for next year unless someone like Fisher breaks out in a major way. An “okay” offseason doesn’t do the program or HC Tony Stubblefield any favors.

9. Butler Bulldogs – Grade: C

After going just 6-14 in league play, Butler essentially turned over its entire roster this offseason. Losing a few guys would’ve been good but Simas Lukosius and Jayden Taylor were always going to be difficult to replace. They have landed six transfers, mostly in the backcourt. Former St. John’s guard Posh Alexander is the biggest name, while DJ Davis and Jahmyl Telfort are guys with high upside.

The lack of a frontcourt outside of Jalen Thomas and Bucknell transfer Andre Screen is a worry in a Big East filled with quality bigs. But with limited resources, the Bulldogs did just enough to at least be interested in the start of next season.
