Michigan Basketball: Top 8 available guard options in 2023 transfer portal
2. Zyon Pullin – UC Riverside Highlanders
2022-23 season stats: 18.3 ppg, 4.1 rpg, and 4.2 apg
Pullin is a four-year senior transfer and multi-time All-Big West guard, leading the team in both scoring and passing. He shot nearly 50% from the field and 40% from three-point range and had 8+ points in every game last season. He had 28 points and 10 rebounds versus Cal Poly and 15 points and nine rebounds against Cal State Northridge.
Pullin had just entered the transfer portal so his recruitment is fully open. He’s from California though so he may ultimately stay out west. But he’s an outstanding shooter and can play next to McDaniel in the backcourt and play off one another.
1. RayJ Dennis – Toledo Rockets
2022-23 season stats: 19.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 5.8 apg
Dennis was the star of both Toledo and the MAC, earning Conference Player of the Year honors. He averaged 37% from three-point range and also had a pair of double-digit assist games as well. Dennis scored double figures in every single game, including 32 points against Ball State.
Michigan may have known that something was up with Love because they hosted the star transfer on a visit this past weekend. Now they can really offer Dennis a lead role in the backcourt next season. Illinois was the rumored favorite but the Wolverines could be the darkhorse threat to steal him away.
