Gonzaga Basketball focuses its attention on Zoom Diallo

With the 2023 recruiting class all but done, teams are starting to work on its 2024 group. For the Bulldogs, their priority target is Diallo, a consensus five-star prospect that 247sports has ranked in the top-10 overall. He’s a 6’4 point guard out of the state of Washington, making him a “local” option for the program.

Diallo visited Gonzaga a few months ago and has the WCC program among his top six programs. Other teams involved are Washington, Arizona, USC, Florida State, and Kansas. The Seminoles are in interesting team to note because after losing assistant Roger Powell to the Valpo head coaching job, Gonzaga hired R-Jay Barsh, an assistant at FSU this past season.

That may have taken the Seminoles out of the picture but there are other teams in contention. Kansas and Arizona are national powers, while Washington could offer Diallo the clear lead guard role once Kentucky transfer Sahvir Wheeler leaves.

Diallo has made a decision not for his college team but rather for high school. He’s set to play at Prolific Prep High School in California, which could be a boost to USC’s chances. Assuming they’re done with the transfer portal, this is going to be the next major recruiting battle of Gonzaga Basketball.
