5. Ryan Davis

A 6’8 forward originally from River Grove, Illinois, Davis had the talent to be successful and really came into his own late in his career with the Catamounts. He joined John Becker’s successful program back in 2018 and would spend his entire four years of college ball over in New England. Davis developed into the next impressive piece in a long line of talented Catamounts that have made themselves known in the America East.

That being said, David was not an impactful player early in his career, starting just 5 games between his first two collegiate seasons. He showed potential as a sophomore and really showed that worth as a junior, averaging 18.5 points and 6.3 rebounds after taking a major step forward. He made more than 80% of the free throws he attempted in his career and was just as potent offensively as a senior. His career ended with a second trip to the NCAA Tournament and a 20-point effort in a first round loss to Arkansas, a high note to end off on.

Davis collected a pair of America East Player of the Year awards for those final two seasons and certainly deserved the honors, leading the conference in field goal percentage and various efficiency metrics. He took the reins and became a go-to force for the Catamounts after settling for Sixth Man of the Year honors as a sophomore. He was undoubtedly the best offensive player in the league during those two years immediately following the pandemic.
