Big 12 Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
9. Devonte’ Graham
Another Kansas star of the past decade, Graham is a 6’2 point guard who was a major weapon for the Jayhawks between 2014 and 2018. He was a Top 75 prospect in that 2014 recruiting class and certainly outperformed that ranking in his time in Bill Self’s program.
After playing decent minutes as a reserve as a freshman, Graham was installed as the full-time starter from his sophomore season onward, averaging 11.3 points and 3.7 assists, scoring 27 points in the Big 12 Tournament title game against West Virginia. Graham played in the Elite Eight as a sophomore and junior, but senior year topped it all. That final season saw Graham average 17.3 points and 7.2 assists as he helped lead Kansas to the Final Four, including a 23-point effort against Villanova in his final game.
Graham was instrumental in that Final Four run and racked in the personal accomplishments. After being Big 12 All-Defense and Tournament MVP as a sophomore, he ended his career on a high note, named Big 12 Player of the Year and a First Team All-American for an impressive senior season. He really was a leader of the Jayhawks and one of their most incredible pieces in recent memory.
