Big 12 Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
22. Adam Flagler
This 6’3 guard from Duluth, Georgia played a big role in Baylor’s recent success, but Flagler didn’t exactly start off his career in the Big 12. He actually started his collegiate role at Presbyterian, becoming a top scorer in a very solid season for the Blue Hose before deciding to transfer. After sitting out a season, he played three years for the Bears starting after the beginning of the pandemic.
He was coming off the bench for the entire season, but Flagler’s first season was pretty memorable, as he helped lead Baylor to the program’s first national championship, including a 13-point effort in the title game over Gonzaga. He’d play a bigger role as an upperclassman, contributing 27 points in Baylor’s wild loss to North Carolina in 2022. He averaged 15.6 points and 4.6 assists as the starting point guard as a senior while hitting 40% of his 3-point attempts.
Clearly, Flagler made a great choice in transferring to Baylor, leaving the college game with a ring and a couple of All-Big 12 honors. He was a major contributor in Baylor’s backcourt even when he wasn’t starting back during their title run. One of the Big 12’s best long-range shooters, he also had incredible offensive metrics and was involved in nearly every aspect of running the Bears’ game plan.
