8. Trevon Bluiett

Xavier was already a fantastic program when they joined Big East Basketball back in 2013. Getting Bluiett in the program a year later certainly helped them stay that way. A 6’6 wing from Indianapolis, he was an important piece for the Musketeers across four seasons. His time at Xavier showed excellent offensive play and he helped Xavier win a ton of games.

Bluiett was already a bona fide weapon as a freshman, averaging 11.0 points a game, though his contributions would certainly increase. He had a number of strong performances in the following seasons, including a 40-point effort at Cincinnati. He’d help lead the Musketeers to the Elite Eight during his junior season, averaging 25 points in their three wins. As a senior, he’d average 19.3 points and 5.5 rebounds a game and help the Musketeers claim a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament before getting upset in the second round.

Bluiett was First Team All-Big East in each of his final three seasons. Senior year, where Xavier won 29 games and really leaned on him, saw him named a Second Team All-American. He was also one of the league’s best 3-point shooters late in his career, knocking down 42% of those shots as a senior. Bluiett played his role well and helped lead Xavier to significant success, certainly easing the transition from the A-10.
