23. Steven Ashworth (Creighton)

The Creighton Blue Jays have had a couple of departures that find themselves later on this list, but they did a solid job in replacing that talent, with the main piece being the transfer Steven Ashworth.

Ashworth comes over from Utah State, and he had a breakout year for the Aggies last season. As a junior last year, he shot 43.4 percent from three-point range, averaging 16.2 points per game.

That ability to shoot the ball from outside is near impossible to find anywhere, and Creighton has found a more than consistent shooter in Ashworth. Putting him on a squad with another shooter in Baylor Scheierman, and a dominant big man in Ryan Kalkbrenner is going to be dangerous for other Big East opponents.

In terms of fit, he will fit more than well in Greg McDermott’s offense, however at 6’1, 170 as of last year, he may give up some size in terms of defense to other guards, but Kalkbrenner should be able to help well enough inside. The shooting ability of Ashworth is what separates him from other players, and the Blue Jays hope it separates them enough in the Big East Conference.
