17. Hunter Dickinson

A 7’1 center from Alexandria, Virginia, Dickinson did not fly under the radar at any point during his time in the Big Ten. He arrived at Michigan back in 2020 and has been Juwan Howard’s best player during his current stint as head coach. Dickinson is a phenomenal athlete who gave three really good years for the Wolverines.

Already a dynamic frontcourt piece early on, Dickinson averaged 14.1 points and 7.4 rebounds as a freshman as he helped guide the Wolverines to the Elite Eight. The numbers got even better as Dickinson put up 18.6 points and 8.6 rebounds a game during his sophomore year. That was another season that ended well, with Michigan advancing to the Sweet Sixteen. The program really struggled in his third and final season in Ann Arbor, but Dickinson still put up impressive figures.

Perhaps due to the impressive big men in the Big Ten, Dickinson settled for Second Team All-Big Ten honors for three straight seasons, though he was a Second Team All-American for that freshman season. He also earned the nod as Big Ten Rookie of the Year, really standing out right off the bat for the Wolverines. He’s shown his talent and ability for the Wolverines and been one of the conference’s best centers; now he gets the chance to do that in the Big 12, as he transferred to Kansas this past offseason.
