Cal Bears

New head coach Mark Madsen has quickly made the Bears an appealing place for transfers, landing five new newcomers. That includes Jaylon Tyson (who needs a waiver), as well as 20 ppg scoring guard, Jalen Cone, and Portland transfer, Mike Meadows.

Both of them are more true scorers than facilitators and are coming from mid-majors. And considering that this team won just three total games all of last season, adding as much individual talent as possible makes complete sense. The question would be whether or not Perez would start over Memphis transfer Keonte Kennedy since Cone/Tyson are likely penciled in as starters.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Another team with a new head coach is Georgia Tech, as Damon Stoudamire takes over. There is plenty of guards already on the roster in Ole Miss transfer Amaree Abram and former Florida wing, Kowacie Reeves. There are also a few returning guards on the roster in Lance Terry, Miles Kelly, and Dallan Coleman.

Point guard play still remains a question unless Abram breaks out as a lead guard. The problem is that there’s already a ton of backcourt depth of guys that have already gotten minutes before so it’ll be interesting to see if the Yellow Jackets can make a case to really have his attention.
