NCAA Basketball: Top 25 impact freshmen classes for 2023-24 season
13. Iowa State Cyclones
Coach T.J. Otzelberger has been able to recruit well at Iowa State but this current group is program-defining. Not only is it a top-10 overall incoming recruiting class but he landed three of the highest-ranked commits in program history.
One of them is JT Rock, a top-100 center that had just recently reclassified. It’s likely that he’ll redshirt this upcoming season so it’s hard to count his potential impact. Also in the frontcourt is three-star forward Kayden Fish, as well as Milan Momcilovic, a top-40 forward prospect that could start at the four-spot.
A freshman that will start next season is Omaha Biliew, Iowa State’s first-ever five-star prospect out of high school. The 6’8 combo forward is one of the top overall athletes in the class and is dominant in transition and getting to the basket. If his shot-making improves, he could be an All-Big 12 player sooner than later.
Jelani Hamilton rounds out the group as a three-star shooting guard but has the size (6’6 and 200 pounds) and the natural scoring ability to find his way into the rotation early on. If Wofford transfer Jackson Paveletzke struggles early on, Hamilton could potentially take over in the backcourt.
