NCAA Basketball: Analyzing 10 early contenders for Kansas transfer Marcus Adams Jr.
Mississippi State Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are going to be one of the oldest teams in NCAA Basketball next season, thanks to having a bunch of 5th-year seniors. But playing time for anyone else coming in won’t be available, as Mississippi State already has DJ Jeffries and Cameron Matthews back on the wings. If he’s willing to wait a year, Adams would certainly have a large role on what would be a rebuilding roster.
Missouri Tigers
Missouri moves on from the Kobe Brown era, having seniors Noah Carter and Jesus Carralero operating at the four-spot. The SEC team still has former top-50 recruit Aidan Shaw and this is the chance for him to get minutes. The Tigers also have incoming freshmen forwards, Trent Pierce and Jordan Butler coming in and while Adams is just as good on paper, there’s already a decent amount of depth available,
Oregon Ducks
The Ducks suddenly have another roster spot available, after transfer forward commit Devan Cambridge ended up going to Texas Tech. So it makes sense for them to get another wing on the roster. The problem is that should it be another freshman? Oregon already has five-star freshmen, Mookie Cook and Kwame Evans Jr. set to get minutes. It’s hard to see a scenario where Adams would want to be behind them unless he’s willing to wait a year before they likely go pro.
