Ivy League Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
21. Tamenang Choh
A 6’5 wing from Lowell, Massachusetts, Choh made the quick journey south to star at Brown for his own college career. He had decent contributions early for the Bears after getting on campus in 2017 and would become a massive part of the offensive attack, spending four seasons and five years with the Bears.
Those decent numbers as a freshman would only rise, with Choh averaging 12.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game in his sophomore season. He had his first 20-point performance in a win over Stony Brook and led the Bears to a rare 20-win campaign. He’d become an even more potent scorer near the end of his career, averaging 14.3 points and 8.2 rebounds as a senior. He had a six-game stretch midway through that season where he averaged 23.7 points a game and shot the ball really well.
Choh’s fantastic play earned him Second Team All-Ivy honors in each of his final three seasons, becoming one of the league’s best rebounders in the process. He racked up impressive assist numbers for a wing and certainly played a big role in some of Brown’s best success in recent memory. Just about every part of his game developed in his five seasons with the Bears as Choh really made a memorable mark with this program.
