20. Antoine Mason

A 6’1 guard and scoring phenom from Queens, Mason arrived at Niagara back in 2010. After redshirting his freshman season, he’d become one of the top offensive threats in the MAAC. His redshirt junior season is our only focus today, as this was his only season at Niagara since 2013. Mason’s season was so impressive that he’d transfer to Auburn for his final year.

This junior year was Chris Casey’s first as head coach of the Purple Eagles and he was certainly elated to inherit Mason. He’d average 25.6 points per game, albeit in a really rough season for Niagara as a team. Mason had a slew of high-scoring performances, most notably scoring 38 points against Marist in the first round of the MAAC Tournament.

Mason was second in the nation in points per game and earned Second Team All-MAAC honors, largely due to Niagara’s 7-26 record on the year. Regardless, he proved to be a high-profile scorer throughout his collegiate career, including a pretty solid showing in the SEC while at Auburn. Mason didn’t win a ton of games in that junior season, but you can’t be disappointed with the sheer numbers he put up for the Purple Eagles.
