Claudell Harris Jr. – 6’3 Guard – Boston College Golden Eagles

Claudell Harris Jr. looks to make his presence felt in the ACC with the Boston College Golden Eagles after developing the past two seasons in the Big South with Charleston Southern. The 6-foot-3 guard joins the Golden Eagles as the lone addition out of the transfer portal to a squad that returns eight players from last year’s squad.

Things improved slightly in Year 2 under head coach Earl Grant as he looks to a potential piece out of the mid-major/low-major ranks in Claudell Harris Jr. to breathe life into their backcourt in 2023-24.

Harris put up 17.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg, and 2.3 apg on 33.3 percent shooting from 3-point range and 46 percent shooting from the field in 2022-23 with the Buccaneers. He ranked second in total field goals made (189) in the Big South, second in the conference in scoring average, second in the conference total points (521), and eighth in the conference in 3-pointers made (66) this past season and took home second-team All Big South honors when it was all said and done.

He posted a career-high 34 points in a 106-69 blowout of High Point back on Jan. 11, 2023 as he went 13-of-18 from the field and 6-of-9 from deep to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and a steal across 33 minutes of play.

He’s certainly a guy that can find his rhythm in a hurry on the hardwood and turn things into a route in a hurry. His presence in the Boston College backcourt will be looked upon to take some of the pressure off returning guards Jaeden Zackery and Quinten Post.
