Kevin Miller – 6’0 Guard – Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Kevin “Boopie” Miller was well on his way to success with the Central Michigan Chippewas of the MAC before his 2022-23 season was shut down after just four games of action due to injury. He hit the transfer portal following the season and becomes yet another guard with star potential for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and head coach Steve Forbes.

Forbes has already “cashed out” in the transfer portal over the last two seasons with Alondes Williams and Tyree Appleby and looks to do similar with Miller. In just four games in 2022-23, Miller showed he was poised for a great junior campaign as he posted 18.5 ppg, 5.3 apg and 3.8 rpg on 51.9 percent shooting from the field and 37.5 percent from behind the arc.

He was well on his way to a successful sophomore season, putting up 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and nine assists in a victory over Eastern Illinois in the second game of the season back in November.

As a freshman in 2021-22, he produced 13.1 ppg, 4.6 apg, 3.4 rpg and 1.1 spg on 42.1 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent from 3-point land, earning All-MAC Freshman honors as a result.

He dished out a career-high 12 assists back on Feb. 1, 2022, nearly finishing with a triple-double against Bowling Green in a victory, posting 21 points and seven rebounds as well.

While the jury is still out on recent transfer Jao Ituka, Forbes wasted no time in acquiring a guard that isn’t afraid to make things happen in other places like the MAC. The potential is certainly present for Miller to emerge at the lead guard role for the Demon Deacons with the return of Cameron Hildreth as well in the backcourt.
