Brice Williams – 6’7 Wing/Forward – Nebraska Cornhuskers

Brice Williams looks to provide a spark and then some with his abilities on the rebounding front and perimeter as a key addition to the Nebraska Cornhuskers rotation out of the transfer portal. He joins the Cornhuskers after spending the past three seasons as a member of the Charlotte 49ers in the Conference USA.

Williams joins the Cornhuskers after showing off his ability to provide a spark off the bench for much of the 2022-23 campaign with the 49ers this past season. He appeared in 36 games, starting in a total of 13 contests, including the final 11 for them in 2022-23. He averaged 13.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg and 1.2 apg while shooting 39.7 percent from 3-point land and 47.9 percent from the floor.

He set a career-high of 32 points back on March 4 in a 93-91 loss, going 12-of-24 from the field and 4-of-10 from deep along with six rebounds. His prowess as a defensive rebounder allowed him to finish fifth in Conference USA in defensive rebounds (162). He ranked 14th in the conference in total rebounds (180). His 146 3-point attempts ranked him 16th in Conference USA.

He’s a dynamic wing-forward prospect at 6-foot-7 with the potential to expand what the Nebraska offense can do this upcoming season. He’s shown he can put the ball on the floor and finish around the rim and in the midrange as well as knock down shots on the perimeter at volume.

Williams won’t be the only transfer needed to get acclimated either as three other prospects out of the transfer portal also join the squad. After a 9-11 record in the Big Ten put them at 11th in the conference, look for Williams to lead Fred Hoiberg’s squad to a little bit more success in 2023-24.
