A.J. Storr – 6’6 Wing/Forward – Wisconsin Badgers

A.J. Storr is a dynamic prospect that joins the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten ranks after spending the 2022-23 season as a member of the St. John’s Red Storm. He’ll look to bring his prowess as a slasher and perimeter threat to a Wisconsin squad that finished 331st in the NCAA in scoring offense (65.3 ppg) this past season.

Storr hit the ground running as a freshman for the Red Storm, providing a spark off the bench for the first 16 games of the season before starting the final 17 games of the year. He finished the season producing 8.8 ppg and 1.9 rpg on 40.4 percent shooting from behind the arc and 43.4 percent from the field.

He poured in a career-high 23 points back in January, though it came in a loss to the Creighton Bluejays in Big East action. Storr went 9-for-16 from the field and 3-for-5 from 3-point land. With his length and versatility, he’ll bring a ton of intrigue to the Badgers’ rotation.

At 6-foot-6, 200-pounds, Storr has the potential to operate in a variety of ways in Greg Gard’s gritty two-way scheme that puts defense first. It’ll just be on Storr to fully buy into the defensive end of the floor. While he did manage to generate an offensive rating of 106.9 as a freshman, he also had a defensive rating of 107.4 on the opposite end of the floor.

With nine players returning from last year’s squad, Storr is the lone addition out of the transfer portal, giving him a leg up on the other three newcomers out of high school. He’ll certainly provide a spark off the bench on offense at the very least heading into 2023-24. Look for his role to grow as he adjusts to his new environment in the Big Ten.
