Jordan Geronimo – 6’6 Forward – Maryland Terrapins

Jordan Geronimo joins the Maryland Terrapins rotation after spending the past three seasons with the Indiana Hoosiers. While he make come off as undersized, he makes up for his 6-foot-6 height with his strong, 220-pound frame, which allows him to create out of the post just as well as he can operate on the perimeter given his athleticism.

He saw his role diminish a bit during the 2022-23 season with the Hoosiers as he averaged 4.2 ppg and 2.3 rpg on 54.8 percent shooting from the floor. He never could quite find his footing in the Indiana rotation, even though he managed to contribute when given opportunities.

He finished with a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) on 5-of-10 shooting in 29 minutes of actions as a starter against Wisconsin then followed that up with a 13-point, 8-rebound performance across 30 minutes as a starter against the Fighting Illini on the road. Both outings resulted in victory.

Geronimo is a physical-minded forward prospect that knows how to keep plays alive with his ability to clean up on the rebounding front on both ends of the floor. He’s also quite the presence on the floor defensively as evidenced by his defensive rating of 96.6 across three seasons.

He’ll look to emerge into a bigger role with the Maryland Terrapins as they look to replace Hakim Hart on the interior. Geronimo will certainly compete for a ton of playing time given his experience in the Big Ten.

Jahmir Young, Julian Reese and Donta Scott return and should take on a bulk of the scoring load but there’s room to grow as a fourth or fifth option in the rotation, even if it’s off the bench. Geronimo has shown he’s fully capable of cleaning up on misses and utilizing his physical frame to be a presence in the paint.
