Tylor Perry – 5’11 Guard – Kansas State Wildcats

Tylor Perry is another mid-major name out of North Texas that joins the Kansas State Wildcats in the Big 12 looking to make his presence felt in the backcourt this upcoming season. He joins the Wildcats after developing into quite the combo guard with the Mean Green in Conference USA action.

Perry took home Sixth Man Player of the Year during the 2021-22 campaign, producing 13.5 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 2.5 apg and 1.3 spg on 41.4 percent shooting from 3-point land. He appeared in 31 games, making just one start, in his first season with North Texas then blossomed as a starter in 2022-23.

This past season, he posted a career-high 17.3 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 2.1 apg and 1.3 spg on 41.3 percent from 3-point land while taking home the Conference USA Player of the Year award. North Texas went 31-7 and finished 16-4 in conference action before taking home an NIT Championship in 2022-23.

He led Conference USA in 3-point field goal percentage while ranking 18th among all of college basketball. His 112 3-point makes this past season ranked second in the conference and seventh among all of college basketball. He registered a PER of 24.5, ranking fourth in the conference, while finishing second in the conference in offensive rating (129.2), good 18th among all of college basketball.

He’s quite the shot-maker when the ball comes his way and does a masterful job of getting to the free throw line as well. He knocked down a career-high 157 free throws this past season along with his ability to knock down shots on the perimeter.

Perry is half of the 2023-24 plan for the Wildcats as they return just three players from last year’s magic squad. He’ll look to replicate what Markquis Nowell did at the floor general spot this past weekend with the other half of the plan, Arthur Kaluma, formerly of Creighton in tow, looking to replicate what Keyontae Johnson did at the forward spot.
