Jesus Carralero – 6’8 Wing/Forward – Missouri Tigers

Jesus Carralero is an emerging transfer to get to know in the SEC this upcoming season with the Missouri Tigers. He spent the past four seasons in the Big South with the Campbell Camels, with his 2022-23 season being derailed by injury. He did manage to appear in five games though, where he put up 10.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.6 apg and 1.4 spg.

He’s an underrated passer out of the frontcourt that should give the Tigers a playmaker out of the post and on the perimeter to work with this upcoming season. In his last full season with Campbell, he produced 9.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.9 apg and 1.2 spg on 46.5 percent shooting from the floor.

He’s a versatile prospect given his ability to handle the basketball, defend with presence and find others in space for easy buckets. He finished sixth in the Big South in assists (114), third in defensive rating (91.0), eighth in blocks (26), ninth in rebounds (164) and 11th in PER (19.6) during the 2021-22 season.

He’s quite the stat-sheet stuffer at the wing-forward role when healthy. He put up a career-high 13 rebounds and eight assists to go along with 14 points and three blocks in a double-overtime victory over Presbyterian back on March 2, 2022. He set his career-high in scoring against the VCU Rams on Dec. 4 with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor. He also had six rebounds and six assists in that non-conference clash.

A native of Spain, Carralero looks to bring his international pedigree as an efficient shooter, playmaker and rebounder to the Missouri rotation. He’s a fundamentally sound prospect at 6-foot-8 that’s shown he can operate at either forward spot and handle the ball in the backcourt. Given his versatility, he’s certainly one transfer to watch in 2023-24.
