Dylan Addae-Wusu – 6’4 Guard/Wing – Seton Hall Pirates

Dylan Addae-Wusu is another intraconference mover, moving from St. John’s to the Seton Hall Pirates. He’ll look to utilize his active guard mentality to improve Shaheen Holloway’s odd in the Big East in Year 2.

He’s a versatile presence at 6-foot-4 that will give Seton Hall a rebounder that can make things happen on the perimeter as a shooter and playmaker. He’s also not a bad defender. He finished ninth in the conference in steals (51) and his defensive rating of 99.9 placed him 16th this past season.

Addae-Wusu accumulated 34 starts across 64 appearances for the Red Storm from 2021-23. He produced 9.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 2.4 apg and 1.6 spg on 36.4 percent shooting from deep and 42.6 percent shooting from the field across 32 games, 19 starts, in 2022-23. In 2021-22, he put up 8.5 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 3.9 apg and 1.3 spg on 38.1 percent shooting from 3-point land and 42.9 percent from the field across 32 appearances, 15 starts.

He went off for a career-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field and shot a career-high 4-for-6 shooting from deep along with six rebounds and fix assists back on March 4 against Marquette. He recorded two double-doubles, a career-high, in 2022-23 as well, including a 24-point, 11-rebound effort back on Feb. 14 against DePaul.

The Pirates return just five players from last year’s 17-16 squad. Addae-Wusu gives them another experienced guard to compete for playing time and at worst, gives them depth off the bench. He’ll have plenty of competition though, with Al-Amir Dawes, Kadary Richmond and Dre Davis all back in 2023-24.

On the flip side, Addae-Wusu has shown he can be versatile at the wing spot, opening up the potential to guard a few forwards if the lineups work.
