25. Tennessee Volunteers

Incoming transfers: Dalton Knecht, Jordan Gainey

Tennessee actually had a third member of its transfer class for a while this offseason in Chris Ledlum. However, he de-committed and went elsewhere but more on him later. Still, the Vols are in good shape roster-wise. Guards Santiago Vescovi and Zakai Zeigler are back and are joined by some great firepower.

Knecht is a 6’6 wing from Northern Colorado and is one of the best scorers in NCAA Basketball. He averaged 20.2 ppg and 7.2 rpg last season, including a 34-point effort against Idaho. The veteran guard shot 48% from the field and 38% from three-point range and can score anywhere on the court.

Gainey isn’t as prolific a scorer as Knecht but he was pretty effective at USC Upstate last season. The 6’4 junior guard averaged 15.2 ppg last season as an All-Big South performer, shooting 41% from three-point range in two years. He somehow that adds scoring depth for the Vols as a potential 6th Man.

Tennessee always has a great defense under Coach Rick Barnes but the offense has been a concern at times. If Knecht and Gainey can give them an offensive boost, this team could finally make that deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
