24. Washington Huskies

Incoming transfers: Moses Wood, Wilheim Breidenbach, Anthony Holland, Nate Calmese, Sahvir Wheeler, and Paul Mulcahy

The Huskies lost a ton of role players on the roster outside of star forward Keion Brooks. Besides adding top-40 incoming freshman guard Wesley Yates, the team was able to land a number of transfers from the portal to get them out of the bottom tier of the league.

In the frontcourt is Breidenbach, a transfer center and former top-100 prospect from Nebraska. Wood is a 6’8 forward from Portland, coming off averaging 15.3 ppg and 6.8 rpg as an All-WCC performer. The 6th-year senior also shot 40% from three-point range on over six attempts a game.

All eyes will be on the revamped backcourt for Washington. Holland and Calmese combined to average over 21 ppg at their previous spots, while Wheeler reunites with his former Kentucky teammate Brooks. He has a career average of over 6.0 apg at both Kentucky and Georgia and is a two-time All-SEC performer.

How Wheeler fits with Rutgers transfer Mulcahy will be interesting. Both are very good defenders and passers but aren’t great shooters or average double figures. The spacing questions will need to be answered before believing that they’re a true NCAA Tournament contender.
