Power Forward

Starter – Makhi Mitchell (20 mpg)

Makhi Mitchell enters the frontcourt looking to take over the power forward role as a featured name for the Razorbacks. He averaged 7.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.4 bpg and 1.1 apg this past season across 36 appearances, 31 starts, this past season. He found his way in the SEC in his first season.

Now, he’ll need to show his consistency as a force on both ends of the floor with a bigger role on the horizon for him. He turned in an offensive rating of 128.1 and a defensive rating of 92.5 with a PER of 22.9 when he was on the floor in 2022-23. He’ll have an opportunity to log more minutes in 2023-24.

Bench – Denijay Harris (10 mpg), Chandler Lawson (10 mpg)

Denijay Harris (Southern Miss) and Chandler Lawson (Memphis) could find themselves battling it out all preseason long for the backup power forward spot. Harris averaged 8.9 ppg and 5.6 rpg on 56.2 percent shooting from the field this past season in the Sun Belt while Lawson posted 5.0 ppg and 4.5 rpg on 56.7 percent shooting from the field in the AAC. Both equally bring something to the table that the Razorbacks need. It’ll be a position battle to keep an eye on for sure.
